Are you supposed to wear socks with rock climbing shoes?

I have heard it both ways and have only climbed with out socks with out any reprocusions.

Are you supposed to wear socks with rock climbing shoes?
Personal preference. Both ways have pluses and minuses.
Reply:dont wear socks. it gonna smell and hurt.. but yo can feel the rock better and you look like a newbie if you wear socks =D

Reply:I would suggest two pair and have a couple of extra pair with you.
